ESENT/JET corruption: Cannot check for Updates | Windows Vista SP2

Hi, Regarding the issue, you may try to follow these steps for troubleshooting 1.Run chkdsk /r /f and sfc /scannow 2.Download and install system update Readiness tool for your OS 3.Disable all security softwares that you have 4.Reset Windows Update Components (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058) If the issue persists, I suggest that you access Microsoft Windows Vista forum, since this is an Windows Vista SP2 related issue: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/category/windowsvistaitpro/ The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us.
